The Institute for Infectious Diseases carries out diagnostic microbiology work in the fields of virology, bacteriology, mycology, parasitology and serological infection diagnosis. It is thus the only university institute in Switzerland to bring together all the specialist disciplines in the field of clinical microbiology under one roof.
